Week 8: Reading and Writing!

1. My favorite reading assignment so far has been the Tibetan Folk Tales Unit. I really enjoyed this unit because there were various short stories. They were fun to read, and I even read some of them to the children I nanny! They thought the stories were a little strange, but they enjoyed hearing the stories about the frog king and the stories with the talking animals.

My reading notes have been very helpful to me because I can refer back to them we doing the storytelling assignment, and the summaries help me remember the lesson and the important aspects in each story.

I struggle with creative writing, so I am proud of what I have come up with so far for my project. The project has probably been the biggest challenge for me because writing original stories takes a lot of my time. It normally takes me hours to finish a story, and then another to proof read it. I am happy with how my project is turning out though, so I hope that my hard work pays off.

2.  I really like this picture that I chose for my reading notes for the Arabian Nights Unit. This was a perfect photo because it was exactly what I was picturing when I was reading the story.

3. In order to get more out of my writing experiences, I think I need to give myself more time for the assignments and the project. For me, is difficult to write creative stories, so I just need to allow more time so I can practice my storytelling and improve.
