Topic Research

I would like to focus my storybook on Zeus. In my previous project post I said that I would like to base my story around Zeus and his multiple loves . I would begin by introducing Zeus who would be: a ladies man, a successful professional, and an influential person. Then I would introduce his wife, Hera. I would discuss her characteristics and explain how she fell in love with Zeus. Another episode of the story would discuss Aphrodite, the most beautiful and youngest mistress that Zeus ever had. I could create one more episode about a second mistress, and then the following episodes would be a story about how Zeus continues to fool these women with his lies and charm. I don't want to spoil the ending, but in the end the powerful women would find out about Zeus's deceptive ways and get their revenge on him. "Phoo"; Web Source: flickr .

Some Awesome & Praiseworthy Feedback Strategies :)

Image
Try Feedforward Instead of Feedback This article was interesting, but my perspective on feedback is similar to this idea of "feedforward". I think it is very important to receive critiques on previous performance, and then to discuss specific ways to improve future performance. The article discusses how giving feedback regarding the past is not allowed during the feedforward process, but in my opinion I feel feedback back about the past an important aspect. I liked the ideas presented in the article, but I do not agree with everything it discusses. The Difference Between Praise and Feedback  I really enjoyed this article because it made me question my beliefs about praising desired behavior. In the business world, I have experienced this and learned about praising employees as a management strategy. I feel I often give too much praise, and after reading this I am more aware of this. Hopefully, I can practice these techniques during my blog commenting because I probabl...

Week 3 Story: The Cyclops

Image
(Image Information: Wikicyclops; Web Source: Wikimedia ). The ship was blown off course in the nighttime and crashed. They were now beached at the land of the Cyclopes. Odysseus told his crew, “It’s too dark out here. We must sleep here on the beach tonight, and we can restore the ship in the morning.” His men lay down and went to sleep. In the morning the men fixed the ship, by the time they were finished it was around lunch time. They were all very hungry, so they decided it would be a good idea to go hunting. They hunted and hunted, and when they were done they feasted. The crew feasted on ten goats for lunch and fifteen for dinner. As they were sitting there eating dinner Odysseus tells his men that he would like to look around the island more. He says to them, “I am curious about the inhabitants of this land, so tomorrow let us go explore this place.” At sun rise Odysseus and his group of men left to explore. They sail to the other side of the island where Odysseus and...

The Odyssey 1. The Land of the Cyclopes: -The sun was about to set as the sailors passed the land of the Cyclopes. In the Land of the Cyclopes, there are no laws. They live in caves. There were an excess of goats on the island. The land was perfect: rich and fertile. -It was too dark too see, and their ship was misguided and the sailors had no sense of direction.
